Beautifully written, the reflection that the spiritual experience is a product of nature struck me, although it’s a simple observation - you just put it into words - and science🌀
I love this — elegantly put, and a powerful message. I agree(!) and have always found nature and God inextricable… looking forward to following your work which is oh so important for our times, perhaps the most necessary work of all
Eastern spirituality including Hinduism, Buddhism have dealt with this deeply. Infact in India our way of life is largely tied with nature. The traditional calendars in Tamil (the oldest spoken language in the world) for example deals with all aspects of a human life what to eat, when to eat, what rituals to follow, when to not eat, when to drink tender coconut water, when to get married, when not to have sex...etc are part of the calendar system :) Its a knowledge that is carried for centuries. On the other hand we have had spiritual masters like Buddha and Ramana Maharishi who preached one to just observe the present moment, the breath and the wonders it can do to the self.
I admire your project’s intent - returning to right relationship with the Earth.
Of course, at this crucial moment, it’s a pregnant question as to whether humanity will have the opportunity to make things right before we get bucked off.
Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts Becca, I appreciate it deeply!
I believe many of us humans will get bucked off. Unfortunately, that will most likely be people from the global south, regions that get the worst end of the climate change stick.
Louis, if you have a piece where you have written about this, I'd be most interested.
From what I see – the latest in the Guardian re: the floods in Spain: https://shorturl.at/bgs68 once the tipping point is fully reached the cascade of weather events is going to rev up exponentially and simply leave disparate pockets of people.
Would love to be directed to more on what you believe. Thanks!
